What is organ-on-chip ?
An organ-on-chip is a type of artificial organ resulting from a cell culture associated with a microfluidic system. This type of technology simulates the activities, mechanics and physiological response of entire organs or organ systems. In a context where research on pathologies with unmet medical needs and drug development requires the use of animal models, the development of organ-on-chip technology represents a major challenge for the industry and a strategic opportunity to limit the use of in vivo models.
